Your Spinal Consultant
BM, FRCS, FRCS Orth
Mr. Rai is based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Spire Norwich Hospital and has been since April 2001. From his busy clinic, Mr. Rai treats patients from across Norfolk, East Anglia, and beyond.
He treats a wide range of problems, such as disc herniations in the neck and lower back, spinal deformities such as scoliosis and kyphosis in adults and children, plus trauma, infections and tumours.
His approach emphasises non-invasive procedures and he refers to surgery only when other conservative treatment options have been explored.
Mr. Rai graduated from Southampton University in 1990 and completed his training in Southern England, as well as extensive training on spinal fellowships in Australia, South Africa, America and Europe. He was also awarded a European Travelling Fellowship in 2002, providing the opportunity to gain experience and direct training working with some of the world's most eminent spinal surgeons.
